Mustard, Purple, and Gray

I wasn't sure how these three colors would go together, but I think they work! I got several compliments on the ensemble, so if they don't work then other people obviously can't tell, so I can wear them! LOL! It was really simple and comfortable, and I got to wear some new shoes that I got for $5 at Target the other day! I love my gray peep-toes, but they always get snow in them, so these gray shoes were my new, cheap solution!!

I wanted to wear jeans and a t-shirt, but had a few MK deliveries to make, so wanted to wear a skirt. This is what I settled on, plus some short black boots. It was comfy and fun!

Preppy?

I am not entirely sure what this look is, but it kind of reminds me of those preppy kids who take horseback riding lessons. Not sure why, but I think it's the vest. And the skinny jeans. And maybe the boots. Who knows. Anywho, this is what I wore the other day.

Skinny Jeans

Once upon a time I swore off skinny jeans. At Ross the other day I found a pair for $5. I bought them. I wanted to be able to wear these boots with jeans tucked into them, but the only way I could was with skinny jeans. Lo and behold, I think I like them.

They're not nearly as scary as I thought they would be. I will admit that they sit lower than I am comfortable with, so they require a longer shirt, but I can work with that.

Purple and Brown

Again with the "original" titles. This outfit was different for me, and I actually liked it, except that it was super static clingy! I even wore a slip and it didn't seem to help my skirt from sticking to my legs and behind. Not the best look. But other than that I liked it!

I thought I'd give the low slung belt look a try, but after looking at the pictures, I can't say it is a good look. It just makes my hips look wide. Too bad I didn't look at these pictures sooner than today, because this is a look I wore a couple days ago. Ooops. Oh well. You live and learn!

I saw a tutorial on Pinterest for how to make a scarf out of an old Tshirt, so I gave it a try. Super easy... super fun! I actually made it from a sleeveless shirt I have had and loved, but had a stain on the front so I never wore it. Now I can wear it again! (as a scarf...)

Today's look is brought to you by the color black! I was in a hurry this morning, so I pulled out this shirt combo I've had hanging in my closet for weeks. Black and gray halter top, sheer ruffled shirt over top, black pinstripe pants, blingy grey metallic belt, shiny disco ball shoes, and blingy jewelry! It's fun! I actually got a lot of compliments on my outfit at church today, too, which means I should probably wear it again. 

Oh, and when I came downstairs this morning, Leif told me my hair looks good like this. He N.E.V.E.R. compliments me on my hair. It was quick hair, too! A little volumizing powder and a french braid. Who knew?

Today's look... is brought to you by my favorite grey skirt. I love it! Comfy, cute, and professional... all a must in my line of work!! I wore a fairly plain teal tee with it, a cropped sweater, black knee-high boots, and blingy belt, necklace, and earrings! Oh, and my side bun with a teal leather flower clip. 

The side bun is my new pony tail. It's what I wear when I don't have time to do my hair. SO much cuter than the pony, though. 

You think I've been going naked, but I haven't...

I just keep forgetting to take pictures of what I'm wearing. Mostly because I want to take the picture after I put my shoes on, but I'm usually downstairs by the time that happens. I'll have to work on that. In the meantime, here's my take on one of my favorite outfits from pinterest lately...

The red cowl is also new, and fun! I knew that I needed a red scarf, but when I saw this I decided to give it a try instead of a traditional scarf. It was warm and fun and didn't try to unravel on me. Woohoo! And it dresses up a plain grey long-sleeve tee perfectly! I also tried putting a flower on my belt for the first time (as per my Pinterest inspiration this week!) and I like it! Add some argyle tights and short boots and you've got the look!

... regular shopping, that is! I had some free time yesterday, so I headed to Ross to see if I could find some mustard yellow items for my closet. While I was there, I tried on a few things!! I tried on this skirt and little sweater, with the cami I was wearing...

Sooo.... what did I come home with? Any guesses? Well, here's what I decided....

*The skirt was cute, comfortable, and flattering. And I need a gray skirt that's not knit. Into the basket.
*The short teal sweater was adorable. 'nuff said. Into the basket! (Oh, did I mention it was less than $5?)
*The poncho, even with a belt, just didn't do anything for me. Back on the rack...
*The mustard, which I specifically went in search of, should be relegated to accent colors. Maybe a belt, or a scarf (both of which Target had, by the way... score!), but not as a shirt. Hello sunshine! Back on the rack...
*The blue top was a winner. I like navy, and this (actually, even this exact outfit!) I love. Huzzah!

So I came home with 3 of the 5 items I tried on, and they are items which complement my existing wardrobe, my body, my general ensemblage, and lifestyle.

I broke my rule...

I broke my rule of only getting dressed once and changed clothes to go out with Leif on Wednesday night. He usually appreciates it when I'm wearing "walking" shoes instead of heels, so here's what I threw on...
